Travelling here

La Seu d'Urgell is situated in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees, in the Segre Valley, ten kilometres from Andorra and forty-five from the French border. It is the capital of l'Alt Urgell region.
La Seu is at the centre of a small alluvial plain, which is contained by the Cadí Mountains to the south and the Pyrenees peaks to the north.
The Valira Valley connects us with Andorra and La Seu pass with Cerdanya.
The Segre River takes us to the south through the spectacular Tres Ponts canyon. Cantó port leads us to Pallars Sobirà and Valldarques, Bóixols and Isona to Jussà.

By road

From Barcelona one can come up along the Llobregat axis road (through the Cadí Tunnel), to connect with the N-260 to Bellver.
One can also use the N-II to Cervera, then go from Cervera to Ponts and then from Ponts to La Seu, along our beloved 1313, the Segre axis road. A variation of this route passes Calaf, through Jorba. It is a good alternative for those wishing to enjoy the varied landscape.
Another possibility is to come to La Seu via Manresa, Cardona and Solsona.
From Girona, the most commonly used route passes through Banyoles, Olot, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Ripoll, la collada de Toses, Alp and Bellver. One can also take l'Eix Transversal (transversal axis road).
